The Department of Health has chosen Changing Minds to provide the Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service across Northamptonshire. This investment has meant that an additional 20 staff, consisting of Wellbeing Workers, Wellbeing Therapists and Cognitive Behaviour Therapists, started working with Changing Minds in September 2009.

As with the rest of Changing Minds, the IAPT service is based on the Stepped Care approach as outlined in the National Institute for Clinical Excellence's (NICE) guidelines for the treatment of anxiety and depression. CLICK HERE for more information.

IAPT funded staff aim to help people with a range of common mental health problems appropriate for Steps 2 and 3 of the Stepped Care Model. More Details on what these steps mean, including typical presenting problems and recommended methods of helping people is available on the national IAPT website. CLICK HERE for more information.
