Wellbeing Walking Group launched

Feeling low? Want to take the first step to phsical activity but don't want to do it alone? A 6 week early evening Wellbeing Walking Group will be starting on Monday 16th August at Stanwick Lakes. Please CLICK HERE to download the poster for more information on the group and how to book a place.

Read Yourself Well book groups

Read Yourself Well book groups offer you the chance to share your knowledge and experience of reading and to meet new people. There are now 6 Read Yourself Well book groups running each month across the county. The groups in Daventry, Northampton and Brackley are well established and have around 6-8 people attending each time. However, the newer groups in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough need more people involved to be a success. Take Time to Make Time

A pilot project has been launched in Daventry called Take Time to Make Time, which is based on the idea of time banking. Local people have been asked to register with the project, signing up with both the skills they can offer other people and the things they need help with. The project is a partnership between Changing Minds and the Daventry Volunteer Centre. CLICK HERE for more information.

Learn2b: we need you!

Whilst most Learn2b courses have proved very popular and are oversubscribed there are some courses in certain areas that need more people booked on them to ensure they can go ahead. Some examples of courses that are at risk of being cancelled are:

Yoga in Kettering

Positive Under Pressure in Brackley

New Learn2b prospectus launched

The new Learn2b prospectus for courses beginning in January, February and March 2010 is now available.Courses range from one day taster sessions to 6 week therapeutic groups on a wide variety of wellbeing subjects so there really is something to suit everybody.

Learn2b Inspired by Arts

The Learn2b Inspired by Arts event will be happening on Friday 30th October at the Fishmarket gallery in Northampton 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. It is free to attend and there will a number of workshops run by local artists. Please CLICK HERE for more information

Come and join a book group!

Changing Minds are working with librarians accross the county to run monthly wellbeing book groups. At the moment there are groups running in Northampton, Brackley and Daventry and there are plans to launch book groups in other areas soon. Please CLICK HERE for more details.

New Learn2b prospectus launched

Health and Wellbeing Celebration Day

Come along to a celebration of health and wellbeing in Northamptonshire. This is a free event with fun, activities and the opportunity to learn more about your own health and wellbeing.

Wellbeing team - the first 6 months

The Wellbeing Teams that launched in October 2008 have had a very productive first 6 months, receiving nearly 3000 new referrals. 96% of people who completed a service user satisfaction form felt that their situation had improved following the support they received from the Wellbeing Team.

Peer support team success

In the first quarter of 2009 the peer support service has received over 120 referrals. Of those people who have used the service 100% felt very satisfied or mostly satisfied with the support they received.

Maternal mental health training

3 day maternal mental health training course: new dates for Northampton announced.

Day 1: Monday 20th April 2009

Day 2: Monday 27th April 2009

Day 3: Monday 11th May 2009

Applicants must be able to attend all three days.

Helping people to manage their sleep: Limited places!

Mike Scanlan will be running a one day training session for NtPCT clinical workers on 'Helping people to manage their sleep'.

Monday March 23rd 9.30-3.30 @ University of Northampton Park Campus

Older Persons Mental Health Forum

The next Older Persons Mental Health Forum will be held on Thursday 12th March from 1-2 p.m. at the Doddridge Centre in Northampton.

There will be a presentation by Bev Field on "What's out there for older people".
